Hole-in-one joy for Tindale and Smith!

news_536_VolvoHoleinone1.jpg

This month we have two hole-in-ones to tell you about!

First up was European Club Swinger Margaret Tindale who predicted her hole-in-one in a dream the night prior to a crucial golf competition. She also dreamt of a Tsunami. As Margaret says, “I got up the next morning and turned on the tv, the news was on and the first report I heard was that a tsunami alert had been cancelled.”

Just hours later Margaret was stood on the 7th tee at Wearside GC - a 92yds par 3 over a gully onto a two tier green.

Comments Margaret, “I stood on the tee, looked at the flag position and thought to myself, that's just where I had hit my ball the last time I played. I took my swing and I couldn't have hit my shot any better, it felt really good. I watched it fly over the gully and land. I knew it was on the green so I turned to pick up my tee, my fellow lady competitor exclaimed "did you see that" and went on to say it had gone in. I said she must be mistaken and that it had probably rolled to the back of the green. It wasn't until my playing partner, who reached the green before me began to clap that I actually believed it. I immediately told her of my dream, she smiled, and asked me to tell her if ever I dream of the lottery numbers!”

Next up was Club Swinger Mike Smith who after 33 years of golf finally got his first hole-in-one at the 17th hole at Coxmoor Golf Club – a severe uphill par 3 which is 194 yards from the medal tees.

Explains Mike, “There was a stiff breeze against on an otherwise perfect day for golf and my 3 iron "apparently" took a single bounce and went straight in! I say apparently as it's so uphill that you can't see the green (it's also over some bunkers) we only knew on the tee it had gone in from the reaction of the team on the 18th tee. I knew it was "good" as soon as I hit it, just not how good. I even won a prize for closest to the pin!!”

Finally last month’s winner Bob Scott is pictured with the prize Volvo he won for the weekend. He tells me it goes like a rocket (sorry Bob!).
