Q: Andy, you have had a fantastic month, is there any one thing that has helped your form?
A: I finally bit the bullet towards the end of last year and had a couple of lessons to get my swing sorted. I was shocked when I saw the comparison between what I thought I was doing and what I was actually doing! It turned out that my swing was fine just that my set-up was, well horrendous. I then worked on the new set-up over the winter months and got the chance to put it all together when the season started. The key thing has been committing to this new set-up and not falling back into old habits.

Q: How long have you been a Flying Club Swinger and what’s been your best season so far?
A: This is my second season in the swingers club. Following my initial season I had a couple of years where my job changed and I did not do any international travel so did not compete, but I am happy to say that I am back up in the air again. In terms of best season so far, that will be this year, my sights are set on the end of season finale.

Q: If you could play a Swingers match play against any player who would it be?
A: As a lefty myself it could only be against Phil Mickleson. As reining Masters Champion he should be able to get us on a cheeky twilight at Augusta National! I admire not only the way he approaches the game and relishes every challenge that the course presents him with, but also the way he approaches life and the substantial challenges he and his family have faced over the past couple of years. A real role model for golfers and none golfers alike.

Q: Why should other Swingers challenge you to a match play at your local club?
A: Good fun and good company over the round with a beer afterwards – what more would anyone want?

Q: What is your dream Swingers final venue?
A: With so many great course to pick, and assuming Phil comes through with a quick 18 at Augusta, I would go for Pebble Beach. Stunning views, excellent set-up and loads of history, but at the mercy of the elements. Get the wind blowing on any coastal course and you get an opportunity…….rise to the challenge or run up some big numbers!
