Q. What one thing has helped your form over the last month(s)?
A: I've made a change to my putting stroke for putts within 10ft or so by gripping down to the bottom of the grip whilst retaining my existing grip for longer putts.
Q: How long have you been a Flying Club Swinger, and what’s been your most memorable moment so far?
A: I played 1 event in season 10 when invited to a Gold Day (won a rangefinder for winning h/c division) and have played every season since. I was fortunate enough to qualify to play for Team Europe in season 12 at the magnificent Harbour town Links, S Carolina.
Q: What’s your favourite destination for playing golf, and your favourite course?
A: My favourite golfing destination is Naples, Florida where I visit 3 or 4 times a year. Having said that my favourite courses are all in the UK where I have difficulty in selecting a single one from Royal Porthcawl, New Zealand GC and the unique Swinley Forest.
Q: If you could arrange a Swingers match play against one golfer or celebrity, past or present, who would it be and why?
A: Seve. Without a doubt. Loved his cavalier, never say die attitude and what he did to reinstate European golf as a world force.
Q: Why should fellow Swingers contact you for match play at your club?
A: I play at the Royal Automobile Club next to the Epsom Derby racecourse. We have 2 championship quality courses which are not available for play to non-members. A limited amount of societies are fortunate enough to play but other than that it's members and their invited guests only. The main course, the Old, has recently undergone bunker improvements and is now looking superb.
