No.2 on Europe Club leaderboard - Division 3

Congratulations to Club Swinger Bob Scott who has been voted as our July Stewart Golf Player of the Month. Bob has not only had two excellent scores, he's also making a comeback after a debilitating hand injury that has kept him out for nearly 18 months. Therefore for Bob to make a comeback in the way he has is even more special.

And to add to it, this is Bob's first Player of the Month win in 16 seasons as a Swinger. Well done Bob!

Q: What one thing has helped your form over the last month(s)?

A: Lessons with my coaches Gavin at Hazlemere and Pat at ABGolf in Thame. And a lot of practice in between. My injuries to my lower back and left hand, prevented me from playing for almost a year and a lot of time and effort to rebuild my grip and swing have now paid off. Target still 12 handicap by the end of summer.

Q: How long have you been a Flying Club Swinger, and what’s been your most memorable moment so far?

A: Since the beginning, all 16 seasons, making the individual finals in S1 & S2 and the team final in Florida S8, 2011. Too many memories at Swingers events, on Virgin Holidays (inc a Hole in One in Cuba) and playing with fellow members. My Ambassador’s prize of a new set of custom fit irons, picked up on the tour truck at the British Masters Woburn, will be hard to beat.

Q: What’s your favourite destination for playing golf, and your favourite course?

A: Easy, Barbados - Apes Hill, going back there in October with Karen for a golf tour, flying Virgin Atlantic of course.

Q: If you could arrange a Swingers match play against one golfer or celebrity, past or present, who would it be and why?

A: Jack Nicklaus and Brian Clough, great 3 ball.....both brilliant and heroes to many.

Q: Why should fellow Swingers contact you for match play at your club?

A: Tricky little track Hazlemere GC, where Luke Donald learned the game and we have a few Swingers in our Merely Hazels league, so there are some friendly faces to pit your game against, not just me. Take a look at the early Swingers video I did with stuntman Garry....!
